Epic movie is Epic

Mon Mar 23, 2009, 8:01 AM
...So I finally got my first major gig, which is sort of a surprise. Got a call from KRU Studios a week earlier asking if I could come in for a briefing, and it seems they have a pretty interesting new movie in store for 2010. And as I sit here with the script on my lap, I can say my faith in the local film industry has picked up about 50%.
If this actually gets through, it'll join the ranks of PGL. Maybe better. For a wider audience too since 70% of it will be in english (latin), with mandarin and old malay thrown into the mix.

So what we have here is the story of two kingdoms of the east and the west (Rome and China specifically) who want to make peace and the two emporors at this point of time (Hadrian and Han-An Ti) decide to betroth their son (Marcus Caprenius) and daughter (Meng Lihua) to one another. Because they can't decide whether to have it at the groom's or the bride's, they decide to have it down the middle on neutral ground, a place we know as Langkasuka. But the oceans are treacherous, and it's not just the elements who are out to spoil the festivities.
So enter Merong Mahawangsa (a supposed descendant of Alexander the Great); Malaysian Han Solo, explorer extraordinaire and charming rogue at your service....for the right price.

Shooting's due in June or so, and my job is to be the main storyboard artist, which I'm excited about.
Thing is....I have no idea what the market rate for storyboarding is locally since they're charging me per frame, not per hour.
At the moment it stands at RM4 per frame, which some people judge to be a bit cheap, so for my local associates who have been involved with this sort of thing, what is the usual going rate for something like this?;

Information would be much appreciated. *Bows*

So since I'll technically be busy for the next month or so, there will be significantly less activity and less time slotted for other stuff, but I'll likely put up some character concepts for the project later on since I love working on it.

Over and out, fellas.

Wash: Start with the part where Jayne gets knocked out by a ninety-pound girl, cause I don't think that's ever gettin old.
